Due to recent demand for Will Writing appointments with SLS Wills and More all available slots have been taken for the next two weeks. I am able to book appointments for the week commencing the 14th September so if you would like an appointment, please contact me and we will find a mutually convenient date.
What happens during an appointment with SLS?
During an appointment with SLS, please make sure that you have I.D to hand. We do this so that we can ensure that the person we are writing a Will for is the person giving us the instructions.
I normally will not get instructions forms out straight away during an appointment. I will generally take some time to get to know you at an appointment prior to taking any instructions or notes. I do this because in getting to know you, I am able to identify and satisfy a number of important legal principles, and will also be able to get a feel for your family situation etc.
Once we’re acquainted, I will then talk you through the process of taking instructions so you are able to understand the questions, why they are being asked and the impact of the decisions on your estate planning.
Examples of the questions I may ask include who you would like to choose as your executor (the person that administers your estate), or do you have a Will in place at the moment, and if so, why are you looking to write a new Will.
During the appointment, I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and answer all your questions. I firmly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question and in answering your questions, and asking some of my own, you will be in a position to make an informed decision.
In comparison to prices charged by some solicitors, services from SLS are very affordable. These costs will be explained to you prior to the end of the appointment. Additionally, I will explain how my suggestions will provide you with added protection. If you need time to think about your estate planning, then you’re welcome to do so.
If you need your documents urgently, this will not be a problem either.
