For Financial Advisers

Estate planning that sits properly alongside the financial plan.

We work with financial advisers across England and Wales. We do Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and probate. We do not advise on investments, pensions or tax, so the rest of your client work stays with you.

Why advisers refer to us

The risk register, neatly closed.

Most adviser firms have a small cluster of clients whose plans are otherwise complete except for the estate planning piece. We close that gap. The advice is grounded in current law, the documents are written by a member of our team with the right qualifications, and we report back to the introducer at the stages that matter.

We take care to stay in lane. Where a client question touches investments, pensions or product selection, we refer back to you rather than across to a competing firm.

How we work with you

What a clean handover looks like.

  • Acknowledge the introduction same day

You hear back the day the introduction lands. We let you know when we are speaking to your client and confirm any sensitive points before we draft.

  • Match the rigour of the financial plan

If there are pensions, business interests or trusts already in play, we factor them in so the Will does not unwind something you put together carefully.

  • Plain English at the client meeting

Your client should leave the meeting able to explain what their Will does, in their own words. We work hard on that.

  • Update you at the right moments

Subject to your client's consent we confirm completion. We do not chase you, we do not nag your client, and we do not poach the wider relationship.

Case patterns

The shape of the work we usually see.

Couples in their fifties and sixties with grown-up children, who want mirror Wills, LPAs and a clear position on Inheritance Tax. They usually have a pension at the heart of the plan.

Business owners selling within five years, who need Wills that work with the share structure now and the cash position later. Often paired with simple trusts for grandchildren.

Recently bereaved clients tidying their own affairs in the aftermath. These are sensitive matters and we work to your pace.

FAQs

Common questions.

We do not pay percentage commissions. Specific referral arrangements may be possible by agreement; please get in touch and we will discuss it candidly.

We refer the question back to you. The financial planning relationship is yours; we are there only for the estate planning piece.

Will writing is not formally regulated in the same way as solicitors (the SRA). SLS Wills and More chooses to be voluntarily regulated by the Society of Will Writers and follows their Code of Practice. Sara is a Trust and Estate Practitioner through STEP and a Fellow of the SWW.
