Terms of Business
These terms set out the basis on which we provide our services. They form part of the agreement between us when you ask us to act for you.

Who we are
SLS Wills and More Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 12384538) at 4 Garrity House, Miners Way, Aylesham, Canterbury, CT3 3BF. We are regulated by the Society of Will Writers. Our founder Sara Sheppard is a Trust and Estate Practitioner through STEP and a Fellow of the SWW.
What we do
We provide estate planning services to individuals and families: Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts, probate and related work. We do not give investment, pension, mortgage or general legal advice outside the scope of estate planning. Where a matter falls outside our scope we will say so and, where helpful, refer you on.
Quotes and fees
We agree fees with you in writing before we start work. Fees for our standard Will and LPA work are fixed; bespoke work, complex trusts and probate are quoted on the facts of the matter. Our standard fees as at the date of this policy are:
- Single Will: £120 inc. VAT.
- Mirror Wills: £180 inc. VAT.
- Supervised signing at our office: £30.
- Signed-for postage: £6.
Other services and bespoke work are quoted on the facts. Fees are payable on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Cooling-off period
Where we agree work with you remotely (off our premises) the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask us to start the work before the 14 days are up, we may charge for time and disbursements incurred up to the point of cancellation, in proportion to the agreed fee.
Identification
We are required by law to verify your identity before completing your instructions. This usually means a current photographic ID and a recent proof of address. We will tell you what is needed.
Storage
We offer free storage of your signed Wills at our office. We register all signed Wills on the National Register of Wills regardless of where they are stored. If you choose to keep your Will at home we recommend a secure, dry place that a trusted person knows about.
Confidentiality
Everything you tell us is treated in strict confidence. We share information only with your consent or where the law requires us to.
Conflicts of interest
We will not act where there is a conflict of interest we cannot manage. If a conflict appears mid-matter we will discuss it with you and decide together how to proceed.
Complaints
If anything goes wrong, our Complaints Procedure explains how to raise it.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence or any other liability that the law does not permit us to exclude. Subject to that, our liability for any one matter is limited to the level of our professional indemnity insurance in force at the time the matter is accepted (no less than £2 million in line with SWW requirements).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
