Based in Kent, available across England and Wales.

In-person consultations across Kent. Online and telephone consultations everywhere else.

Coverage

How our coverage works.

Our office is in Aylesham, near Canterbury, and we work in person with clients across Kent. For clients further afield, we work by video call and telephone, with the same time and care we would give in person. Many clients across England and Wales prefer it that way; it saves them travel, fits more easily around work and family, and produces the same quality of advice and documents.

National coverage

Beyond Kent: England and Wales by video.

Estate planning is the same legal regime across England and Wales. Where you live within the jurisdiction does not change the law; it only changes the logistics. Many clients find that working with a Kent-based firm by video produces a better experience than working with their nearest local firm.

What clients tell us

  • The credentials are unusual; for clients who care about that, it matters.
  • The way SLS works is what they wanted from estate planning, not the postcode.
  • Working by video saves time and fits around work and family.
  • The free initial consultation is the same whether in person or online.
How online works

How online consultations work.

A free initial consultation by video or telephone covers exactly the same ground as an in-person meeting. We listen to your circumstances, ask the questions we need to ask, and explain your options. The only thing that is different is that we are not in the same room. For most clients, this is a feature rather than a bug: no travel, no parking, no time off work, and you can have your paperwork in front of you on your own table.

When the time comes to sign documents, we arrange this carefully. Wills must be signed in the physical presence of two witnesses (per section 9 of the Wills Act 1837). For online clients, we walk through the witnessing requirements and arrange them properly. Some clients prefer to come to our Aylesham office for the signing; others arrange witnesses locally with our guidance.

Take the first step

A thirty-minute conversation costs nothing and clarifies everything.

We will listen to your circumstances, explain your options, and give you a clear sense of what is involved. No pressure to proceed.
