SLS Wills and More Limited is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 12384538) at 4 Garrity House, Miners Way, Aylesham, Canterbury, CT3 3BF. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.

What we collect
The personal information we hold depends on how you interact with us. It may include:
- Contact details (name, address, email, phone number).
- Date of birth and other identifiers needed to write a Will or LPA.
- Family, asset and beneficiary information you give us as part of your instructions.
- Photographic identification and proof of address where required by anti-money-laundering rules.
- Records of correspondence, meetings and the documents we draft for you.
- Technical information about your visit to this website (analytics is cookieless, see below).
Why we use it
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To take your instructions, draft your documents and provide the service you have asked for. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks and record-keeping requirements. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To respond to enquiries you send through the website or by phone, email or post. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To send you our newsletter or guide notifications where you have opted in. Legal basis: consent.
How long we keep it
Our retention policy reflects the long-term nature of estate planning work. Wills and supporting files are kept for the lifetime of the client and for a period afterwards in line with professional guidance and the Limitation Act. Enquiry-only records are kept for a shorter period. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for or where the law requires us to. Examples include:
- Cloud-based tools that store and process our files securely under UK GDPR-compliant contracts.
- Identity-verification providers for anti-money-laundering checks.
- Other professional advisers (your accountant, financial adviser or solicitor) only with your consent.
- Regulators, HMRC and the courts where required by law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it where retention is no longer required, to restrict our processing of it, to object to processing and to receive a portable copy. Where we rely on consent (for example the newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time.

Complaints
If you are not happy with how we have handled your personal information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113. We would prefer to hear from you first so we can put things right.
