Mirror Wills
Two Wills with matching provisions, made together by a couple. Each Will is independent and can be changed by either party at any time.
Mirror Wills are common for married couples and civil partners. Each spouse leaves their estate to the other, with matching residuary provisions on the second death.
Mirror Wills are independent: either partner can change their own Will at any time, with or without the other's knowledge. (Mutual Wills are different and bind the survivor; we generally do not recommend them.)
