Trustee
A person who holds assets in trust for someone else.
Trustees take on legal duties: to act in the beneficiaries' best interests, to follow the trust's terms, and to keep accounts. At least two trustees are usually appointed, particularly for trusts holding land or property.
Trustees can be family members, friends, or professional trustees, often a mix. The right balance depends on the trust's purpose and the family's circumstances.
