Property and Financial Affairs LPA
An LPA covering money, property and financial decisions, including operating bank accounts and managing or selling property.
A Property and Financial Affairs LPA can be used while the donor still has capacity (with their permission) or only on loss of capacity, depending on how it is set up.
Attorneys are bound by fiduciary duties and cannot benefit from the donor's funds beyond reasonable expenses. The Office of the Public Guardian investigates concerns about attorney conduct.
